a resting place
a) metaph. the heavenly blessedness in which God dwells, and of which he has promised to make persevering believers in Christ partakers after the toils and trials of life on earth are ended
This is not the same rest of Genesis 2:2
to cease, desist, rest
a) (Qal)
1) to cease
2) to rest, desist (from labour)
God ceased creating.
