The End of the World

The End of the World!

How does the world end?  When will the great Time of Trouble take place that Jesus warned about?  And what starts this dangerous time period that will precede the Second Coming?

See End of the World spoof.

http://www.endofworld.net/

While the Advent Movement lives in the 21st century, they promote 19th century eschatology.  Although they came into existence specifically because they wanted to understand the final events, it soon became apparent that they had discovered an unfolding prophetic paradigm that would have a lasting effect on all denominations until the end of time.

Today, the world is much nearer to its predicted demise than ever before.  But where are the SDA's, the experts in modern eschatology?   They are so confused and so far behind where they need to be in their doctrinal development, that they are almost worthless.  They need to wake up and once again focus on integrating their Apocalyptic with contemporary eschatology.  This is their mission.

The SDA's must update their 19th century views and make them relevant and credible within the context of the 21st century knowledge and research.   In other words, this outmoded idea that Sunday laws will start the time of trouble must be replaced with a more credible and relevant eschatology.

We live in the 21st century, not the 19th, and that means that SDA's need to pay better attention to the world around us, as well as to the increased knowledge about Bible prophecy and the Gospel.

Today, few doubt that the world stands in grave danger from any number of potential catastrophes.  And many are trying to figure out exactly how the world will end.  Will it be by comet or climate change?  Will it end with a great epidemic or terrorism?  Or how about a war in the Middle East that rages out of control and turns into a nuclear holocaust?  There is a long and growing list of the possibilities.

But what about the modern Adventists?  How do they think the world will end?  How will it really end?

See links about eschatology:

Today, the Advent Movement must not only go backwards in order to figure out the Three Angels Messages correctly, they must also go forward to understand Rev 18.  This is what SDA's refer to as the 4th Angels Message.  Here is the last Advent Message that will close the work of the church.  This is where prophetic history is leading the Laodicean Church.  This final Advent Message will precede the Time of Trouble, even as they explain it for all to understand.  But it has zero to do with any religious laws.  We can now read Rev 18 differently and understand.

Rev. 18:1  After these things I saw another angel coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illumined with his glory.

Rev. 18:2 And he cried out with a mighty voice, saying, “Fallen, fallen is Babylon the great! She has become a dwelling place of demons and a prison of every unclean spirit, and a prison of every unclean and hateful bird.

Rev. 18:3 “For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the passion of her immorality, and the kings of the earth have committed acts of immorality with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich by the wealth of her sensuality.”

Rev. 18:4  I heard another voice from heaven, saying, “Come out of her, my people, so that you will not participate in her sins and receive of her plagues;

Rev. 18:5 for her sins have piled up as high as heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.

Rev. 18:8 “For this reason in one day her plagues will come, pestilence and mourning and famine, and she will be burned up with fire; for the Lord God who judges her is strong.

Rev. 18:9  “And the kings of the earth, who committed acts of immorality and lived sensuously with her, will weep and lament over her when they see the smoke of her burning,

Rev. 18:10 standing at a distance because of the fear of her torment, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’

Rev. 18:11  “And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, because no one buys their cargoes any more—

Rev. 18:14 “The fruit you long for has gone from you, and all things that were luxurious and splendid have passed away from you and men will no longer find them.

Rev. 18:15 “The merchants of these things, who became rich from her, will stand at a distance because of the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning,

Rev. 18:16 saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, she who was clothed in fine linen and purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls;

Rev. 18:17 for in one hour such great wealth has been laid waste!’ And every shipmaster and every passenger and sailor, and as many as make their living by the sea, stood at a distance,

Rev. 18:18 and were crying out as they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What city is like the great city?’

Rev. 18:19 “And they threw dust on their heads and were crying out, weeping and mourning, saying, ‘Woe, woe, the great city, in which all who had ships at sea became rich by her wealth, for in one hour she has been laid waste!’

This is not the Second Coming.  The reference to burning with fire and smoke is caused by mankind, not heaven.  This is how the time of trouble will start.  See below and understand modern eschatology.

Nuclear or Biological Attack Called Likely By Joby Warrick

Washington Post Staff Writer
Tuesday, December 2, 2008;

The odds that terrorists will soon strike a major city with weapons of mass destruction are now better than even, a bipartisan congressionally mandated task force concludes in a draft study that warns of growing threats from rogue states, nuclear smuggling networks and the spread of atomic know-how in the developing world.

The sobering assessment of such threats, due for release as early as today, singled out Pakistan as a grave concern because of its terrorist networks, history of instability and arsenal of several dozen nuclear warheads. The report urged the incoming Obama administration to take "decisive action" to reduce the likelihood of a devastating attack.

No mission could be timelier, says the draft report of the Commission on the Prevention of Weapons of Mass Destruction Proliferation and Terrorism, which spent six months preparing an assessment for Congress and the new president-elect. It adds: In our judgment, America's margin of safety is shrinking, not growing.

The report, ordered by Congress last year, concludes that terrorists are more likely to obtain materials for a biological attack than to buy or steal nuclear weapons. But it says the nuclear threat is growing rapidly, in part because of the increasing global supply of nuclear material and technology.

Without greater urgency and decisive action by the world community, it is more likely than not that a weapon of mass destruction will be used in a terrorist attack somewhere in the world by the end of 2013; says the draft report, a copy of which was obtained by The Washington Post. The Post reported excerpts from an earlier draft in Sunday's editions.

The creation of the commission, chaired by former senator Bob Graham;D-Fla, with former congressman James M. Talent, R-Mo. serving as vice chairman, was one of the recommendations of the 9/11 Commission, which explored the causes of the 2001 terrorist attacks against the United States. The new panel's bipartisan members and staff conducted more than 260 interviews with government officials and experts around the world to assess the problem of weapons of mass destruction as well as offer proposals for reducing the threat.

While the panel found the risk of an attack with such weapons to be increasingly serious;nuclear terrorism is still a preventable catastrophe the report says. It calls for aggressive steps to secure unguarded stockpiles of nuclear weapons material such as uranium and plutonium, as well as coordinated international efforts to discover and disrupt smuggling rings that traffic in atomic technology.

It also urges a dramatic overhaul of the international institutions and treaties that have sought to slow the spread of nuclear weapons since the 1950s. The landmark Non-Proliferation Treaty should be dramatically toughened, the report recommends, with the addition of real penalties for violators and a more robust International Atomic Energy Agency to carry out inspections and enforce the rules.

The United States should push for a global consensus banning states such as Iran and North Korea from adding to their stockpiles of enriched uranium and plutonium, while also ensuring supplies of commercial reactor fuel for countries that renounce nuclear weapons, the report says.

Commission members urged Barack Obama to take a tough line with both Iran and North Korea. If the president-elect seeks to engage the two countries diplomatically, they said, he should do so from a position of strength, emphasizing both the benefits of them abandoning their nuclear programs and the enormous costs of failing to do so. Nuclear weapons in the hands of either regime not only pose a threat in their own right but also increase the chances of a destabilizing arms race, the report says.

Pakistan's buildup of nuclear arms also threatens to exacerbate a regional arms race, while presenting opportunities for terrorists to acquire weapons parts and critical technology, the commissioners concluded.

So here is the question for all SDA's?

How will the time of trouble and the end of the world really take place?

What should 21st century eschatology really look like?  And how should the church prepare for the great Tribulation?

Matt. 24:21 “For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not occurred since the beginning of the world until now, nor ever will.

Matt. 24:29  “But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.

Rev. 2:10 ‘Do not fear what you are about to suffer. Behold, the devil is about to cast some of you into prison, so that you will be tested, and you will have tribulation for ten days. Be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life.

Rev. 7:14 I said to him, “My lord, you know.” And he said to me, “These are the ones who come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

The Adventists invented the modern eschatological platform, which is followed by all denominations today.  But what about now?   What should they be saying about the present situation today?

Here is a discussion about this on the old AT site:

http://www.atomorrow.com/discus/message … 1045379969

What does Sunday laws have to do with a terrorist attack on the US?

Answer:  Rev 18 is not about Sunday laws.  It is about a crippling Terrorist Attack on the West.  The Time of Trouble is caused by those that hate the Jews, thus the world will end in a rage of anti-Semitism.  This is what starts the great Tribulation.

Rev. 18:21  Then a strong angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “So will Babylon, the great city, be thrown down with violence, and will not be found any longer.

Rev. 18:22 “And the sound of harpists and musicians and flute-players and trumpeters will not be heard in you any longer; and no craftsman of any craft will be found in you any longer; and the sound of a mill will not be heard in you any longer;

Rev. 18:23 and the light of a lamp will not shine in you any longer; and the voice of the bridegroom and bride will not be heard in you any longer; for your merchants were the great men of the earth, because all the nations were deceived by your sorcery.

The "light of the lamp" means electricity in our 21st century world.  Thus the passage is saying that the electrical grid will be destroyed--with "violence" and it will not be rebuilt.  This ends both non-food and food production;no craftsmen and no sound of the mill.  This ends the need for marriage and pro-creation, as well as for world trade.  This is the end of the world, prior to the Second Coming.  Is anyone ready for this?

Matt. 24:43 “But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

Matt. 25:13 “Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour.

Mark 13:33  “Take heed, keep on the alert; for you do not know when the appointed time will come.

Mark 13:34 “It is like a man away on a journey, who upon leaving his house and putting his slaves in charge, assigning to each one his task, also commanded the doorkeeper to stay on the alert.

Mark 13:35 “Therefore, be on the alert—for you do not know when the master of the house is coming, whether in the evening, at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or in the morning—

It is time for the Advent Movement to understand the Three Angels Messages correctly.  Why?  So that they can repudiate the many errors of Traditional Adventism and move forward to develop the 4th and last Message, which is anchored in Rev 18.   This is the point of the Advent Movement.  To understand how the world will actually end and prepare the church for this great time of trouble is the reason why SDA's exist.  Too bad they know longer know their place, or care.

Thus, there is a final Prophetic Message for the Advent Movement to understand and proclaim.  It is the 4th Angels Message.  It is very different from what all have imagined.

Under the 4th Angels Message, there is to be a final articulation of Gospel eschatology that is both contemporary and credible.   It is nothing like what the Adventist Pioneers imagined for a number of reasons.  But we live in a much different world from them.  And we have so much more knowledge and understanding of the Bible.

It is time for the Adventists to start focusing on the real Judgment of the world, which is only the Second Coming.  They need to repent of their many errors and start working to develop a credible Gospel Message that will awaken a sleeping church and prepare them for what is about to take place.

Mark 13:37 “What I say to you I say to all, ‘Be on the alert!’”

I hope this helps,

From Tom's link:

By Pierre Paul Legault, Posted on Thursday, February 13, 2003 - 5:01 pm:

    Having theories about the apocalypse is mostly harmless fun for adults, but I wish the church would leave the children alone.

    I remember sabbath school classes when I was 7 or 8 years old when we'd be admonished to learn memory verses so we'd remember them when the bad evil people took away our bibles and we'd have to run to the hills and/or be killed.

    Eventually one grows out of it, but there's no point to scaring the children with these stories.
