Get rid of relion (or politics?)

Quote:

"Erkki Tuomioja, a Finnish Social Democrat MP and former foreign minister, said on his website on Thursday that the special church service held annually in conjunction with the opening of Parliament was a relic from the time when parliamentary sessions were held infrequently.
"This relic, incompatible with a secular state, at least should be abolished," Tuomioja added, referring to the ceremonies accompanying the opening of the parliamentary session.
Päivi Räsänen, the Christian Democrat leader, was quick off the mark to reject Tuomioja's proposal.
"MPs and civil servants are under no obligation to take part in the service," Räsänen said in a statement."

Source:
http://helsinkitimes.fi/htimes/index.php?option=co m_content&view=article&id=5123:finnish-parliaments -church-service-has-no-place-in-secural-state-tuom ioja-&catid=24:politics&Itemid=204
