Wish Hitchens had not called William Miller "George Miller" when discussing 19th century religious lunatics (his term). I loaned that book to a christian over a year ago but they have not returned it. <BR> <BR>D'Souza debates from an old earth position. During the debate he agreed that humans had evolved at least 100,000 years ago. So Hitchens asked him why the christian god sat around for at least 98,000 years watching humans without lifting a finger but decided 2,000 years ago to intervene and introduce His Son into humanity. D'Souza didn't have an answer. <BR> <BR>It would be nice to have the opportunity to go see Dan Barker debate a believer as Barker knows the Bible and christian talking points better (first hand).

I don't think they would have liked Hitchens at the podium drinking their god's blood. He was drinking water but assured a questioner that he would be in a pub within an hour of the debate's finish.
