Re: Telemedicine

If this picture makes it easier to assess my situation, let me tell that it was taken some years later by a digital camera (Canon PowerShot 350, maximal resolution 640 x 480, so this picture is what it is), but the general view was approximately similar than it was, when I "lost" my stethoscope.

Those of you with sharp eyes can see the stethoscope and two telephone sets. Most appointment rooms had only one telephone.

Re: Telemedicine

Stethescope is on the top of inbox on right of the computer screen. I see a telephone to the left and center of picure and one on floor beneath the desk. But what is the calico cat doing underneath the desk?

Re: Telemedicine

Calico cat??

Under desk is keyboard and a Compaq computer. At the right side of Compaq there is a big plastic bag containing [computer?] magazines. Supposedly a glimpse of a pair of shoes is visible, too.

But have you alredy guessed the explanation for the stethoscope?

I'm convinced that it is a piece of cake for you, Elaine!

Re: Telemedicine

It's a particular color combination, rather than a certain breed of cat, Pauli. Looks like this:

But we're just joshing (kidding) you.

Or...maybe Elaine really does see it....

Re: Telemedicine

Maggie,

thanks for the explanation.

BTW,

I have been taught to beware of people, who keep cats as pets.

Rumoredly dog-keepers are more trustworthy.

Maybe it is only an urban legend or applicable only in this country?

Rumoredly dog-keepers are more trustworthy.

I've never heard that. Though both dogs and cats are neotenized, dogs are definitely more dependent and require a more responsible, trustworthy person in charge.

Just a guess. Who knows?

Re: Telemedicine

Calico cats are always female (?). They also are attracted to bookstores and libraries. Cat owners are nearly always bookish people.

The attraction of cats is their very independent natures: they "allow" their owners to think they own them but it's the reverse. When they decide to "own" a chair, they will let you know in no uncertain terms. They make and live by their own rules, which is why certain people like them as pets. They also can care for themselves while dogs require more maintenance.

Re: Telemedicine

I saw an ad recently about a guy with a broken leg communicating with a doctor via teleconferencing, and the doctor is communicating with the patient, telling him to pick up a scalpel and cut as he instructed. The patient looks aghast at the computer screen and says, " Shouldn't you be doing this?" The doctor says he has another scheduled surgery and had to run. The narrator comes on and says, don't you think having some help with your financial investing in today's environment would be a wise thing to do???
